A 62-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment on Monday (July 6) for murdering his father in 2019. According to prosecution, Chinna Palani (81), a resident of Vellaiyampalyam near Sankari, was attacked by his son Subramani over a land dispute on June 8, 2019. Chinna Palani sustained grievous injuries and died. The Sankari police registered a case and arrested Subramani. On Monday, the Salem Principal District Court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment and also imposed on him a fine of ₹10,000.
