Man found dead in pond in Kurunthancode

A 29- year-old man was found dead in a pond at Kadetrikulam in Kurunthancode on Saturday.

Police said, information was received that a motorcycle had been found abandoned near the pond and that bloodstains were noticed on the steps leading to the pond. On receiving the information, Eraniel police rushed to the spot and conducted an inquiry. The Fire and Rescue Service personnel were alerted and a search was launched at the pond.

After a prolonged search, the fire and rescue service personnel recovered the body of a man from the pond. He was identified as Alvin Rajesh, from Thittuvilai area.

As his head was severely injured, police suspect that he could have been attacked following an altercation while consuming alcohol.
