A 62-year-old man died after an off-road vehicle, which was being reversed after dropping off a passenger at a house where a funeral was being held, lost control and crashed into the building at Kavumvattam near Koyilandy on Sunday (October 4, 2026) morning.
The deceased has been identified as K. Rajan. The accident occurred around 7.45 a.m. Rajan, who was standing in the courtyard, sustained serious injuries when the vehicle rammed into the house.
He was taken to the Koyilandy taluk hospital and later shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, for specialised treatment. He died while undergoing treatment. Another person who had arrived at the house to attend the funeral and the vehicle driver also sustained injuries in the accident.
