Man dies after BMTC bus runs over him in Nelamangala

A 25-year-old man died after being struck by a BMTC bus in Nelamangala while riding a two-wheeler with his wife. Police are currently investigating the incident using CCTV footage.

A 25-year-old man was killed and his wife injured after a BMTC bus allegedly rammed their two-wheeler from behind near Urs Colony, within the Nelamangala Traffic Police limits, on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Manu, a resident of Nelamangala town and a native of Sira in Tumakuru district. He was working as a restaurant manager and had got married just eight months ago.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 4.30 p.m. when Manu was riding the two-wheeler with his wife as the pillion rider on Urs Colony Road. The BMTC bus allegedly hit the two-wheeler from behind, throwing the couple onto the road.
