A man died after he was allegedly assaulted by a couple during an argument over an unpaid loan, at J.C. Pura in Kanakatte hobli of Arsikere taluk in Karnataka, on August 31.
The deceased, Mansoor Pasha, was allegedly assaulted by Sanaullah and his wife, Jareena Banu, residents of the same village.
According to the complaint filed by Aseeya Tabassum, sister-in-law of the deceased, Sanaullah had borrowed ₹40,000 from Mr. Pasha about a year ago. He had not returned the amount despite repeated reminders.
On August 31, around 1 p.m., Sanaullah confronted Mr. Pasha near Ms. Tabassum’s house at J.C. Pura about the debt. When Mr. Pasha asked him to repay the loan, Sanaullah allegedly flew into a rage and abused him before assaulting the deceased, along with his wife.
