A 27-year-old man was died on Friday after a Ganesha idol fell on him during transit at Attanur village in Sirwar taluk of Raichur district.
The deceased has been identified as Prem, a resident of Attanur village.
According to preliminary reports, Prem was among three persons sitting in the back of a truck transporting a heavy Ganesh idol intended for installation at the village.
The accident occurred when the idol came into contact with an overhead live electricity cable along the transit route. The impact caused the massive idol to lose balance and collapse directly onto Prem.
