A 48-year-old man and his 16-year-old daughter, natives of Meepugiri, were found dead at a rented house at Shivapuram in Koliyadukkam on Saturday (August 15, 2026) night.
The deceased have been identified as Ganesan and his daughter Vaishnavi, a Plus Two student at Paravanadukkam Government Higher Secondary School.
According to the first information report, the incident is believed to have occurred between 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. The police registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. The investigation and further proceedings are continuing. The police said no clear information had emerged regarding the cause of the deaths, and the circumstances surrounding the incident were being investigated.
