Man claims ownership of 1.71 acre at Nanjundapuram STP in Coimbatore
A resident in Coimbatore has demolished a portion of a compound wall at a sewage treatment plant, claiming ownership of the land based on a 2018 court case. The local corporation has halted the demolition and is currently reviewing the legal documentation.

A portion of the compound wall around the Coimbatore Corporation-run sewage treatment plant (STP) at Nanjundapuram was demolished by a P.N. Pudur resident, A. Nagarajan, who claimed ownership of 1.71 acres based on a 2018 court case.
Mr. Nagarajan also put up a board at the site, stating that the land was awarded to him through the court proceedings.
Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Nagarajan said he demolished the compound wall as the land belonged to him and that he was not required to issue any notice to or obtain permission from the Corporation to remove the wall on his property. He said he had all the court orders pertaining to the case and claimed that the orders had been passed in his favour.
