But United should be a formidable challenge as City looks to atone for a 2-0 defeat in the sides' last meeting back in January.

City will not have the services of star winger Jérémy Doku , who is still dealing with a calf injury. But Nico O'Reilly is available off the bench after suffering an injury in warm-ups ahead of a win over Coventry City on Saturday, Sept. 5.

Maresca has opted for Enzo Fernández and Elliot Anderson in holding midfield, with the pair beating out impressive fellow newcomer Ayyoub Bouaddi .
