Man booked for posting his wife’s photograph, phone number in social media
A man in Madurai has been arrested for posting his estranged wife's photos and phone number on social media. The police registered a case under the IT Act and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act following complaints of harassment.

Madurai District Police have booked one M. Ganeshkumar of Pothumbu on charges of posting photographs of his estranged wife and her sister in social media along with their phone numbers.
The police said that the complainant was married to Ganeshkumar for 15 years.
However, the husband, who was a habitual consumer of alcohol, used to beat her up since marriage.
Unable to put up with his physical torture, the woman had left him two months back and was living separately.
Against this background, the husband had posted the photographs. This led to strangers calling the sister in the last two days.
Angered over this issue, the sister had gone to the man’s house and questioned his act.
