A 39-year-old man was bludgeoned to death by his neighbour near Sulur in Coimbatore district on Wednesday (August 19, 2026). A. Senthilkumar of Gandhi Nagar at Selakarachal near Sulur was allegedly murdered by his neighbour T. Kannan (35).

The police said that Senthilkumar, a driver by occupation, had tea from a bakery at Selakarachal around 4 p.m., after which his friend Santhosh dropped him at his residence. According to the police, Senthilkumar scolded Kannan for making noise and reportedly shouted at him. Kannan struck him on his head with a heavy object and he fell unconscious.
