The Arakkonam Railway Police have arrested a 51-year-old man for allegedly pushing his 75-year-old mother onto a train track, which resulted in her death, near Tiruvallur on Tuesday (August 18, 2026).
A senior official from the Government Railway Police said Parthasarathy had been living with his mother, Padmavathi, in Thiruvalangadu village. Padmavathi’s late husband was a retired Central government employee, and she suffered from health issues due to old age. Parthasarathy, an alcoholic, would regularly buy liquor using his mother’s pension money.
