Man arrested for murder of wife in Bailhongal

The Bailhongal police have arrested a 33-year-old man for the alleged murder of his wife at Amatur village in Belagavi.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi, 32, of Indira Nagar in Bailhongal. Her husband, Raju Lakshman Madamageri, has been arrested.
According to the police, the couple had marital differences and Lakshmi had reportedly approached a court seeking divorce. The police said the accused allegedly suspected her of having a relationship with another man.
According to the complaint, Lakshmi had gone towards Aravalli and Nayanagar villages on September 27 to sell ‘kudala pinna’. She was allegedly taken by Raju to a spot near the Government Chikkahalla at Amatur village between 12.45 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.
