A 28-year-old man who allegedly collected ₹25.87 lakh from nine people promising to secure government jobs for them and issued fake appointment orders has been arrested by the Avadi Central Crime Branch.

According to the police, the accused, M. Deepak, 28, of Sundarasolapuram in Thiruverkadu, claimed that he was working as a secretary at the Secretariat. He promised to secure government jobs, including Village Administrative Officer (VAO), Revenue Inspector (RI), Deputy Tahsildar, and Tahsildar posts, for the complainant and her son, brother, nephew, and other relatives.

The police said Deepak collected up to ₹2 lakh from each person and received a total of ₹25,87,475. He allegedly handed them fake appointment orders, claiming that the jobs had been secured.
