Two people have been arrested over the murder of a man who was found dead with a gunshot wound outside a Lower Hutt property earlier this year.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Nathaniel Sturmey, while a woman, 46, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Sturmey died outside a property on Malone Rd, Waterloo in April.

Police carried out multiple search warrants this morning with the armed offenders squad at properties in the suburbs of Moera and Stokes Valley.

The two defendants will appear in the Hutt Valley District Court today.

Further arrests and charges are likely as the investigation progresses, police said.
