In a news release Sunday, the Toronto Police Service said a 57-year-old man was driving a 2024 black Dodge Ram pickup truck in a grass parking lot at the park shortly after 11:30 p.m., following a concert.

A 29-year-old man was lying on the grass when the pickup truck struck him, according to Toronto police.

The man was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition but succumbed to his injuries Sunday, Toronto police said in the news release. The driver remained at the scene.
