Malnad districts receive heavy rain
The Malnad region in India has experienced heavy rainfall, causing flooding, landslips, and the displacement of residents near the Tunga river. Authorities have opened dam gates to manage rising water levels as rainfall significantly exceeded seasonal norms.

Many parts of the Malnad received heavy rains on Sunday, disrupting normal life. There were reports of landslips and flooding in many places and the rivers are in spate in the region.
The rivers in the region have swollen leaving the people in the banks in fear. Tirthahalli taluk administration has shifted the families located on the Tunga bank in the town to a temporary care centre at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan in the town. Many areca plantations have been flooded.
