Extensive traffic restrictions will be in place in Kozhikode city and adjoining areas on Sunday (September 13) in connection with the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the traffic police have said.
The restrictions will come into effect from 5 p.m. on Sunday. Complete traffic restrictions will be enforced on the stretch from Vaidyarangadi and Ramanattukara to Malaparamba, and from Malaparamba towards Kunnamangalam and Mavoor.
Vehicles arriving from the Wayanad side will have to enter Kozhikode city through Thamarassery, Balussery, Nanminda and Eranhipalam. Vehicles from the Koduvally side will be diverted through Padinjarathilam-Kalarikkandi-Varattiyakk-Peringalam, while those arriving from Mukkam will have to take the Chettukadavu-Peringalam route.
Vehicles from the Kannur side will be diverted through Elathur-Pavangad-Nadakkavu. Vehicles arriving from the University side will have to take the Idimuzhikkal-Ramanattukara-Feroke-Cheruvannur route to reach Kozhikode city.
