Malaysia ends 36-year wait for Asian Games sepak takraw gold, beats Thailand 2-0

NAGOYA, Sept 25 — Malaysia has reportedly ended a 36-year wait for the Asian Games men’s sepak takraw team regu title after beating rivals Thailand 2-0 in the final at Nagoya City Mizuho Arena today.
According to Berita Harian , the victory was Malaysia’s first gold in the event since the 1990 Beijing Asian Games, when the national side also defeated Thailand in the final.
