MALAWI: “Reach out to Others,” Bishop Chaima Urges Children in Malawi
Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima of the Zomba Diocese in Malawi urged children to serve others, drawing inspiration from the Blessed Virgin Mary. The message was delivered during the conclusion of the first Diocesan Children Congress, which focused on faith, education, and good behavior.

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba, Rt. Rev. Alfred Mateyu Chaima, has urged the children in the Diocese to reach out to all people in need of service, just as the Blessed Virgin Mary did in reaching out to Elizabeth, who needed service.
Speaking during the Eucharistic Celebration of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary which also marked the closure of the first ever Diocesan Children Congress from 20 th August to 22 nd August, 2026, the Diocesan Leader said that just like Mary who encountered the Angel with the message from God and thereafter visited Elizabeth, the Congress is also another encounter with the Lord commissioning them to spread the faith to the parents, relatives and friends.
