Malaria outbreak grips Kashmore amid medicine shortage

KANDHKOT - Due to the apathetic attitude from health and malaria control department, both public and private hospitals of the district are flooded with the malaria and other mosquito borne diseases. In the absence of any anti - mosquito spray campaign by malaria control program the district is witnessing a sudden outbreak of malaria - borne diseases. This has led to a significant increase in patient load at OPD in both public and private healthcare facilities. The outbreak had further triggered a drug crisis particularly a shortage of medicines for malaria and dengue. Kamran Hussain, an attendant of a malaria patient, told this scribe that the district was witnessing a significant increase in malaria cases.
