Maharashtra, NTM-CIIL join hands for translation work
The Maharashtra Directorate of Languages is collaborating with the National Translation Mission in Mysuru to translate academic content. This initiative supports the 'Viksit Maharashtra 2047' program, which aims to translate 500 Marathi books into various languages.

A delegation of senior officers from the Directorate of Languages, Government of Maharashtra, visited the National Translation Mission (NTM), Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysuru on Wednesday to discuss matters related to the translation of academic content and explore avenues for institutional collaboration.
The delegation comprising Arun Gite, Director of Languages; Santosh Gosavi, Assistant Director of Languages; and translators Namdev Koli and Anand Gangan held discussions with Basavaraja Kodagunti, Director, CIIL, and Tariq Khan, Officer-in-Charge, NTM, for developing a roadmap for translating academic content and strengthening translation initiatives in Marathi and other Indian and foreign languages.
The visit builds upon the long-standing association between the Directorate of Languages and the Mission. Officers from the Directorate had previously consulted the NTM on various language and translation-related matters and had visited CIIL on earlier occasions.
