Magaya's Yadah Hotel acquitted of unregistered medicines charges

YADAH Hotel, owned by Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries founder Walter Magaya, has been acquitted of charges involving the alleged possession of unregistered medicines after successfully applying for discharge at the close of the State’s case.

The hotel, represented in court by Donald Makuvaza, had been facing two counts under the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act relating to the alleged possession of unregistered medicines and unregistered complementary medicines at its Waterfalls premises.

The hotel denied the allegations and applied for discharge, arguing that the State had failed to establish any link between the hotel and the medicines recovered during a police search.

The court upheld the application, finding that the State had failed to connect the medicines to Yadah Hotel and consequently found the hotel not guilty.
