Traffic congestion at the southern end of the Vaigai river bridge near Aravind Eye Hospital is increasing, resulting in frequent accidents and injuries. The traffic police should install signal lights and speed-breakers at the four-way junction to regulate traffic and ensure the safety of road users.

The 100-metre stretch opposite PSY Hypermarket and Trends on New Natham Road, beneath the overbridge, is plagued by perennial sewage overflow at two points, causing foul smell and inconvenience to pedestrians.

Passing vehicles splash the stagnant sewage water on unsuspecting walkers, while the prolonged stagnation threatens to damage the newly laid road.

The Corporation Commissioner should inspect the spot and resolve the problem.
