The school education department authorities should ensure that schools appropriately observe Independence Day and enable students to understand the significance of the historic occasion.
The news report on stringent action being taken against defaulters for non-remittance of property tax and subsequent action to seal the property by the authorities of Corporation of Madurai is a bold move. The authorities should also take similar action against hospitals, roadside eateries amongst others which dumped their waste without adhering to norms.
