Why it matters
Public feedback highlights ongoing urban management challenges and the need for better maintenance of civic and religious infrastructure.
Madurai City Reader’s Mail Dog menace in city I would like to draw the attention of Madurai City Corporation to a grave issue faced by the residents of Indian Bank Colony, Narayanapuram. Stray dog menace in our area has increased alarmingly in recent times. Dogs move in packs and aggressively chase pedestrians and two-wheeler riders returning home late at night. Their incessant barking through the night has robbed us of sleep, causing immense distress to senior citizens and children in particular. It poses a serious threat to public safety. We appeal to the Corporation to catch these dogs and implement the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme, especially sterilisation of female dogs, on a war footing. Vaithianathan Subramanian Narayanapuram Poor infrastructure at temples Azhagarkoil and Pazhamudir Solai temples attract a large number of devotees from across the country every day.
