Jain Vidyalaya organised an experiential learning trek to Deoriatal–Chandrashila in Uttarakhand from September 27 to October 7, in collaboration with Indiahikes. Forty-seven students from Class IX and XI, accompanied by teachers, participated in the event.
Designed to develop resilience, independence, leadership and teamwork, the trek offered students opportunities to step beyond their comfort zones, learn essential outdoor skills and build meaningful peer relationships. Students learnt responsible camping practices, including packing efficiently, identifying safe campsites and managing resources.
Inspired by Indiahikes’ Green Trails initiative, students collected litter along the trails, segregated waste at the campsite and ensured responsible disposal.
The PG Department and Research Centre in English, The Madura College, conducted memorial lectures in memories of legendary Professors K.R. Narayanan and V. Sankarasubramanian (Prof. Ramani) on October 9.
