Madrasa teacher sentenced to life term for sexually assaulting minor boy

A 30-year-old teacher at a madrasa was sentenced to life imprisonment by a special court in Rangareddy district on Tuesday, September 29 for sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy.

The Fast Track Special Judge for Trial and Disposal of Rape and POCSO Act Cases at L.B. Nagar convicted Mohammed Munawar Hussain, a teacher at a madrasa in Mamidipally village, in a case registered by Pahadishareef police. The court also imposed a fine of ₹25,500 on the accused and awarded ₹2 lakh as compensation to the victim.

The case came to light after the 13-year-old boy, a student at the madrasa, was brought home on December 26, 2024, after falling ill.

The boy subsequently disclosed to his mother that the teacher sexually assaulted him and threatened him. The boy also told his mother that a similar incident had allegedly taken place two days earlier.
