Madin Academy launches anti-drug initiative under ‘Operation Toofan’

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Monday (September 28, 2026) launched an anti-drug initiative of the Madin Institute of Mental Health and Rehabilitation (MIMHAR) as part of the State government’s ongoing ‘Operation Toofan’.

Under the initiative, MIMHAR will provide free treatment to 50 people seeking to overcome drug addiction, based on recommendations from the Home Minister. Madin Academy also agreed to work with the government on anti-drug activities under the project.

Mr. Chennithala, who visited Madin Academy here to offer condolences on the death of its chairman Syed Ibrahim Khalil Bukhari Thangal’s mother Fatima Imbichi Beevi recalled her role in raising five scholars who went on to serve society.

Students and teachers welcomed Mr. Chennithala at the academy. Student Police Cadets saluted him.
