A stretch of the UK’s busiest motorway was closed on the first day after the summer holidays following a serious crash in Surrey.
Drivers were warned to expect long traffic delays on the M25 this morning after the incident overnight.
The M25 was closed anti-clockwise between junction J11 near Ottershaw and J10 for Cobham.
It reopened fully at about midday after being shut for more than 12 hours.
National Highways said previously there is ‘no ETA on reopening,’ with around 45 minutes of delays on approach in both directions.
It said: ‘Surrey Police investigations were carried out overnight and completed at approximately 0600.
