M.R. Poovamma feted in Mangaluru

Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada U. T. Khader, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta and Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyasa Kamath felicitated Aichi-Nagoya quarter-miler and gold medallist M.R. Poovamma at her residence in Urwa Stores in the city on Saturday.
Ms. Poovamma has won four gold medals in her pet event, the 4x400 m relay, at four different Asian Games.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Khader lauded the perseverance of Ms. Poovamma’s in achieving her goals. Her achievements are inspiration to the youth and students to excel in sports activities, the Minister said.
