M.P. Cabinet approves 20% quota for Agniveers in police, other uniformed services

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday (September 29, 2026) approved a 20% reservation for Agniveers in various uniformed services in the State, such as police constable, Special Armed Forces (SAF), prison guard, forest guard and excise constable.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Apart from Agniveers, the Cabinet also approved 5% and 10% reservations for ex-servicemen and homeguards, respectively, in these jobs.
“In line with Chief Minister’s vision of empowering the youth, the Council of Ministers has taken a historic decision to provide 20% reservation to ‘Agniveers’ in the State’s uniformed services. Under this decision, recruitment for constable (general duty) posts in the Home Department will now include 10% reservation for home guards, 5% for ex-servicemen, and 20% for Agniveers,” a government statement said.
