Lyra releases her cover of The Pogues' Streets Of Sorrow

Irish singer Lyra has released a cover of The Pogues' 'Streets of Sorrow/Birmingham Six' for an upcoming tribute album honoring Shane MacGowan. The track reflects on the historical miscarriage of justice involving the Birmingham Six and Guildford Four.

The Cork singer joins U2, Bruce Springsteen, Hozier, Tom Waits, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and Damien Dempsey on the 36-track homage to MacGowan who passed away in November 2023.
Ahead of its release on the 13th of November, Lyra has unveiled her version of the song, co-written by MacGowan and fellow Pogue Terry Woods for the 1988 album If I Should Fall from Grace with God.
