Luke Shaw: Fabrizio Romano drops update on future of Man United veteran

Manchester United is reportedly planning to sign a new striker in the January transfer window while preparing for the departure of veteran defender Luke Shaw. The club is currently struggling in the Premier League, leading to speculation about potential squad reinforcements.
Why it matters
As one of the world's most popular football clubs, Manchester United's transfer strategy significantly impacts the global sports market and the club's competitive standing.
Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has entered the final 12 months of his contract and his future remains up in the air. The Englishman enjoyed an impressive run last season, becoming only the fifth Red Devils player to play every game in the Premier League since the inception of the tournament.
However, Shaw's recurring injury troubles have played spoilsport this season, with the 31-year-old appearing in just five of the 13 games so far. The Premier League giants were linked with several left-backs this summer, but failed to sign any of them.
That decision has proven to be a mistake as United currently sit 17th in the league table after nine games, with just one win to their name. INEOS are expected to rectify their error in the winter transfer window, and Manchester City's Rayan Ait-Nouri is reportedly among the candidates on their wish list for the job.
