LTFRB taking steps on NLEx traffic jam

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Saturday said it has directed its regional offices to coordinate with operators of expressways in disseminating timely reports on the status of roads, following the weekend gridlock at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) from Aug. 28 to 31.
Acting LTFRB Chair Greg Pua Jr. has also instructed regional offices to coordinate with local government units in identifying alternative routes from expressways during emergencies or other unexpected incidents.
Furthermore, the regional offices were ordered to strengthen coordination with transport and trucker companies to ensure the "widest dissemination of information to the public in cases of unexpected road emergencies."
