Lotteries for Indiramma Houses in Hyderabad from August 27; draws to be livestreamed

The Telangana government is set to conduct lottery draws for 7,340 Indiramma affordable housing units in Hyderabad starting August 27, 2026. The process will be livestreamed to ensure transparency, with specific quotas reserved for marginalized groups and employees.
Why it matters
This initiative addresses urban housing shortages and provides a transparent mechanism for distributing government-subsidized housing to low-income residents.
The lottery draws to select beneficiaries for 7,340 Indiramma Houses in Hyderabad (CURE) region would be held constituency-wise from August 27, 2026. The process would be streamed live on YouTube and other platforms.
The lotteries would be held in the presence of officials from Revenue, Housing departments and media personnel, for four constituencies everyday, said the Housing Board’s Vice Chairman V.P. Gautham.
The draws will be held according to reservations for applicants from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), people with disabilities, and government outsourcing, class IV employees and sanitation workers. A waiting list for each of the categories too would be prepared and they too would be selected through lottery.
