Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Krantivira Sangoli Rayanna Bengaluru Railway Station recovered and returned a passenger’s bag containing gold ornaments, a laptop, and cash, all worth more than ₹29 lakh.
On August 30, Santosh was travelling on Train No. 16316 (Thiruvananthapuram North–Mysuru). He inadvertently left his bag in coach B3 while deboarding the train at Krishnarajapuram (K.R. Puram) in Bengaluru. The bag contained gold ornaments and other valuable belongings, according to officials.
“After receiving information about an unattended bag, RPF Bengaluru alerted the on-duty staff. When the train subsequently arrived at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station on Platform 5, RPF personnel went to the coach and searched the area,” an official said.
“The personnel located the unattended bag and took it to the RPF office for verification and safe custody,” the official added.
