Lorry driver dies after vehicle crashes into stationary container truck on Outer Ring Road
A 26-year-old lorry driver died after his vehicle crashed into a stationary container truck on the Vandalur-Minjur Outer Ring Road in India. Emergency services struggled for three hours to recover the driver's body from the wreckage.

A 26-year-old lorry driver was killed near Nemillicherry on the Vandalur-Minjur Outer Ring Road on Saturday (September 12, 2026).
Avadi Police said a container truck traveling from Poonamallee towards Red Hills had broken down and was parked along the service lane at Nemillicherry near Pattabiram, on the Vandalur-Minjur Outer Ring Road (ORR). At that moment, a lorry carrying crushed stones from a stone quarry arrived at high speed and crashed into the container truck.
In the impact, the front portion of the tipper lorry was completely damaged, and the driver of the lorry Muthu was killed on the spot. The Pattabhiram Police, on being alerted about the accident, found it difficult to retrieve the body of the driver Muthu as it was caught in the mangled portion of the lorry.
