A driver allegedly lost control of the lorry he was driving and rammed three vehicles waiting at a traffic signal on the national highway at Kunjannappara, Marathakkara, in Thrissur on Thursday night.
The accident occurred at around 10.30 p.m. when a goods lorry crashed into the rear of vehicles waiting at the signal towards Ernakulam.
A container lorry, a car behind it and another goods lorry were lined up at the signal when a speeding lorry ploughed into them from behind.
The car was caught between the two lorries, whose occupants had a narrow escape. Both the front and rear portions of the car were badly damaged in the impact.
