Dempsey early in the third term nailed a ball in flight over his body deep in the goal square straight through the big sticks in a play contested by Matt Johnson.

But the soft call of the miracle play was deemed touched off Johnson’s bicep as it was sent for a score review in dramatic scenes.

While that replay appeared to show the ball come off Dempsey’s boot last, it was tricky to definitively say and thus the decision wasn’t overruled.

Fox Footy pundits were sure left perplexed.
