Lok Satta leaders oppose proposal to set up RRB in Amaravati

Lok Satta party leaders and other organizations are opposing a proposal to establish a Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in Amaravati. They argue the board should be located in Visakhapatnam to better serve the North Andhra region.
Why it matters
The location of government infrastructure is a sensitive political issue in Andhra Pradesh, reflecting regional tensions regarding development and resource allocation.
Leaders of Lok Satta and representatives of several organisations on Monday opposed the reported proposal to establish the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) in Amaravati.
Speaking at a round-table meeting in Visakhapatnam, A.P. Lok Satta president Bhishetti Babji alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s reported letter to the Centre would disadvantage unemployed youth from North Andhra. He argued that the RRB should function from Visakhapatnam, where the South Coast Railway Zone is headquartered.
