Livestock Board eases trade rules to improve permit flexibility
The Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia has updated trade permit regulations to allow for ownership transfers of bonded livestock products. Additionally, the validity period for transit permits has been extended from seven to 14 days to improve logistical efficiency.

THE Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia (LLPBN) has introduced changes to the livestock trade permit regime aimed at improving trade facilitation and providing greater flexibility for importers and traders.
The changes allow for the transfer of ownership of consignments of controlled livestock products stored in registered bonded facilities, subject to compliance with relevant legislation governing livestock, animal health, customs and trade.
The LLPBN said the amendment will enable registered importers who do not have sufficient poultry and pork import quota to sell their consignments to other registered importers with available quota.
