Liverpool turn towards teenage sensation to replace Florian Wirtz

Liverpool FC is reportedly considering a move for Mexican teenager Gilberto Mora as a potential successor to Florian Wirtz. The club is evaluating its midfield options following underwhelming performances from current players.
Why it matters
High-profile football transfers reflect the financial and strategic shifts within elite European sports clubs.
has probably been one of Liverpool's biggest let downs since he joined the club last summer.
When the German midfielder was initially signed, he was the Reds' record signing and, although that title was short-lived thanks to Alexander Isak's arrival, the fact that the Anfield outfit spent £116 million on Wirtz will certainly be hanging over his head.
The fact that Arne Slot failed to play to the strengths of a decent number of his players last term also probably didn't help matters much, especially since he needed to settle in and get used to life as a Premier League player.
But, now that Andoni Iraola is in charge and Jurgen Klopp is Germany's manager, it feels like he may finally be able to meet expectations.
And, despite how true this may be, it does feel like Liverpool may now be eyeing a move for his successor.
