The Uruguay international completed a season-long loan from Barcelona on Monday, with the outline of the deal mapped out last week. Araújo agreed to take a pay cut to come to Merseyside. Liverpool , who paid no loan fee, have the option to buy him for £47m next summer.
Significant water needs to pass under the bridge to get to that point, not least the fact that Araújo must prove he is ready to play consistently at the top level once again following a difficult period in Spain .
