The Seahawks just put fans through a roller coaster to open their season.

Quarterback Sam Darnold was injured on the Seahawks’ opening drive, but coach Mike Macdonald said after the game they received “great news” on the injury.

In spite of that, the Seahawks rode their defense and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to an exciting comeback win over the Patriots , 13-10. Here are three instant impressions and grades for each position group .

Seattle’s defense finally flashed its turnover propensity on two straight fourth-quarter possessions, with cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett hauling in an interception off a tipped pass and then Julian Love following with another interception of Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.

Josh Jobe intercepted Maye for a third time along the sideline in the end zone to seal the victory.
