Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Saturday that it had attacked several vessels, including ones allegedly linked to the United States, in retaliation for American strikes on Iranian tankers earlier today.

The Guards said in a statement that its naval forces had subsequently "targeted three oil tankers on the unauthorised route of the Strait of Hormuz and three vessels affiliated with the child-killing America in other areas," warning other ships not to attempt to transit by unapproved routes.

There was no immediate confirmation from the U.S.

Earlier Saturday, U.S. Central Command said it had "permanently disabled" three Iranian oil tankers in the Persian Gulf after Iran's Guard fired ballistic missiles at a U.S. aircraft carrier and guided-missile destroyer.

Iran is issuing its first response to the U.S. severely damaging two Iranian oil tankers and totally destroying a third on Saturday.
