<h2>Heavy rains seen across Luzon over long weekend until National Heroes' Day</h2><p>Heavy rains in many parts of Luzon are expected throughout the long weekend until National Heroes' Day on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday.

According to the state weather bureau, the following rainfall forecast is expected in areas in Luzon due to the Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat:

Aug. 28 to Aug. 29 afternoon

100 - 200 mm rainfall: Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, and Occidental Mindoro

50 - 100 mm rainfall: Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga,Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Oriental Mindoro

Aug. 29 afternoon to Aug. 30 afternoon

100 - 200 mm rainfall: Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan
