Thousands of Hoosiers continue to deal with historic flooding Monday, Aug. 17, as floodwaters push into the southern parts of Indiana. Throughout the weekend, residents in the Indianapolis metro area rushed to fill sandbags and fled their homes as waters rose along the White River .
At least seven people have died in the storms that started nearly six days ago and included a likely derecho along with historic flooding.
As day broke, Aug. 17, the floodwaters that had moved south were prompting river rescues and other hazards in Morgan and Johnson counties.
