Liquor outlets to remain closed in Cyberabad for final Ganesh idol immersion

Wine and toddy shops and bars attached to restaurants across the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate will remain closed for 24 hours during the final Ganesh idol immersion on September 25.

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police M. Ramesh ordered the closure from 6 a.m. on September 25 to 6 a.m. on September 26 in the interest of public peace and tranquillity. Bars in star hotels and registered clubs are exempted from the order.

The order was issued under Section 20 of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1968.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ramesh visited the Malkam Cheruvu Ganesh idol immersion lake on Tuesday evening and reviewed security arrangements for the ongoing immersions.
