Link between genetics and BMI has become stronger since rise in obesity rates, study finds

A study published in PLOS Genetics suggests that the link between genetic predisposition and obesity has strengthened over the last five decades. Researchers found that individuals with obesity-linked genetic variants are more susceptible to modern environmental factors, such as processed food availability, than previous generations.
